The APCS is pleased to announce that the 2019 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (2019APCS) and Mayors' Forum has been nominated as a national finalist in the Australian Event Awards 2020 for 'Best Congress or Conference'.

The Australian Event Awards is a renowned national awards program for the Australian events industry, recognising Australia's best events and event-related goods, services and innovation. 

On 25 August 2020, the Australian Event Awards announced the 2019APCS as one of the five national finalists for the 'Best Congress or Conference' category. According to Brenda LaPorte, Co-Chair of the judging panel, the entries put forward for judging on average scored significantly higher than last year, 2019. 

The APCS is proud to see the 2019APCS nominated as a national finalist for such a prestigious award and would like to thank all city leaders, delegates, speakers, exhibitors, partners, young professionals and volunteers for making the 2019APCS in Brisbane a successful conference.

The 2019APCS in Brisbane, which was the 12th APCS Summit, welcomed more than 1400 government, business and emerging leaders from 140 cities in the Asia Pacific region and beyond, including 83 Mayors. With the overarching theme of 'Driving Cities through Business and Innovation', more than 190 speakers and presenters shared their insights with attending delegates. The Summit's dedicated business program, Meet@APCS, facilitated 149 business meetings and the Major Project Announcement Briefings showcased AU$4.2b value of tender-ready city projects.
